For the iOS app PoseSync · Effective 2026-09-03
In one sentence: we collect nothing. PoseSync has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no third‑party SDKs. Everything travels directly between your two phones over your local network.
1. Where your data goes
- Viewfinder video: the photographer's live preview is sent to the model's phone over Wi‑Fi or a direct peer‑to‑peer link (AWDL). It never touches a server and is never stored.
- Photos: full‑quality photos are saved only to the photographer's Photos library. A compressed preview is sent to the model's phone for in‑app review during the session and is discarded afterwards.
- Pose reference: a photo you pick from your library is compressed and sent to the other phone, used only as an overlay, and discarded afterwards. Built‑in pose outlines ship inside the app and are loaded locally on each phone.
- Controls and settings (zoom, shutter, grid…) travel only between the two phones.
2. Permissions we ask for, and why

Every permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
3. What we don't do
- We do not collect, store or upload any personal data, photos or video;
- No analytics, advertising or crash‑reporting SDKs;
- No account, no cloud service;
- No cellular data: the local link explicitly prohibits cellular interfaces.
4. Device name
So the other phone can recognise you, the app advertises a device name on the local network (by default your iPhone model plus a four‑character tag; you can change it). It is visible only within your local network and is never sent to us.
5. Children
PoseSync is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
6. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
